Yes! It's okay to pray for healing; the Bible even encourages it. Some people will receive healing sooner, some later, and some will receive it in Heaven. Bottom line? Sick or healthy, put your trust in God.

Yes, it is okay to pray for healing! The Bible encourages it. Jesus healed many people during his ministry on earth. God wants his followers to be healthy and whole.
But where does sickness come from? The Bible teaches that sickness and death are rooted in sin: man’s original rebellion against God. Jesus died on the cross to free us from sin and from the consequences of sin, including sickness. (1 Peter 2:24)
“Pray one for another”
Jesus healed many sick people at the request of their family or their friends, and that’s a good model to follow today as well. There is power in agreement. Jesus said, “where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20) Family and friends can join you in prayer, ask for their agreement!
“Confess your faults one to another”
Deal with the issues that keep you from being the kind of person God wants you to be. Your faith will grow and you’ll feel greater confidence when you pray (1 John 3:21-22). Godly friends will encourage you and help you to be a Godly person.
Find a church that believes in prayer
It’s worth repeating: there is power in agreement! Ask your Christian friends to join you in praying for healing. And ask the leaders of your church to pray as well; the Bible encourages that too! (James 5:14)
Finally, whether you’re sick or healthy, put your trust in God. Some people will receive healing sooner, some later, and some will receive it in Heaven. God promises His followers an eternity in His presence, where the curse of sin will be forever removed and all tears will be wiped away! (Revelation 21:1-4)
Reaching out to God in prayer is easy and accessible. Not sure how to start? Here's a simple prayer to try. For more ideas on how to pray, try reading Psalm 30 and Psalm 34.
Dear Father, Thank you for being the LORD who heals. Thank you for Jesus. Thank you that Jesus died on the cross to free me from the curse of sin - that by his wounds I can be healed for eternity. Thank you that through Jesus, I can look forward to a wonderful future with you. I want to follow Jesus and I want to be the kind of person you want me to be. Guide me when I pray. Guide me in making friends who will pray with me and encourage me. And help me to trust you in sickness and in health alike. Amen
